RFID World

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and the Electronic Product Code (EPC), for those of you who have been sleeping for the last five years, is the single most hyped technological innovation for use in supply chain since the invention of the wheel. While hype conveys a lack of reality, RFID is still a technology with vast potential to facilitate supply chain efficiency and agility through enhanced visibility and collaboration. Although RFID is not the technological solution for every supply chain problem, and enhanced visibility--sense--is only as good as the ability to intervene--respond.
