Seven years ago when we launched The RFID World, we envisioned one highly-focused exhibition and conference where all of the RFID technologies could be discussed and demonstrated to executives from any enterprise with any application and use-case.

The RFID World led the way and helped showcase to the world of retailers, manufacturers, distributors and more. It demonstrated the power and promise of RFID technology. Today, enterprise customers demand more than RFID to solve the problems. In 2009, we are once again leading the way for our community of technology innovators and services firms to showcase the entire end-to-end solution that enterprise customers and channel partners require.

What was once RFID World, focused on RFID technology, has evolved to THE RF Edge 2009, the premier technology exhibition that showcases leading-edge wireless tracking and tracing solutions for automating the location and monitoring of assets, personnel and processes. RFID by itself provides the identity, location and time-stamp, but in combination with other information sources such as images, video, motion detection, temperature/humidity/chemical sensing, Web search engine technologies and GPS location, RFID data becomes a tool to help make actionable decisions to improve operations.

Finally -- we're going back to Dallas! Dallas is not only a global supply chain hub, but home to many of the innovators in our business -- corporations, start-ups, academic institutions, investors and more. In 2009, Dallas will be a key geographic area in the build-up and investment in the nation's infrastructure, especially its trade infrastructure.
